Frequently Asked Questions
What makes WolfDen Designz unique?
All my pieces are handmade and hand-stitched(no glue), using locally sourced, sustainable materials. My work honours my Haudenousaunee heritage, family traditions, with each design rooted in authentic cultural practices.
Where do you source your materials?
95% of my materials are locally sourced in Alberta, including smoked tanned hide, antler, glass beads, and 20 gauge sterling silver wire. I hand select every material for quality, and ethical sourcing.
Are your products eco-friendly?
Yes! WolfDen Designz follows a slow fashion model, using recycled and natural materials, and I produce in small batches to minimize waste.
How do I care for my jewelry?
Store your jewelry in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid contact with water, perfumes, or lotions. For specific materials like smoked hide and antler, care instructions are included with your order, and I also have a full care guide page here for further questions.
How do you ensure authenticity and ethical practices/
Each piece is designed and crafted by hand by me, incorporating family taught techniques and honouring the cultural protocols of not taking more than I need to keep production in small batches, it minimizes waste. I also attach to each piece a “certificate of authenticity” tag that ensures you are buying an authentic WolfDen Designz designed by me, and you have a certificate to keep in your records for warranty and repair purposes. I source my materials and furs from Moonstone Creations and Bill Worb Furs. I’m also pursuing International Fur Federations(IFF) accreditation through their FurMark label which provides documentation of origin and ethical sourcing for all my fur products.
Can I buy your jewelry in person?
Yes! Select pieces are available at Moonstone Creations in Inglewood, Calgary and at local Indigenous craft markets and local markets. Follow me on Instagram for event dates.
Are workshops available?
Workshops pertaining to my work are in development. My workshops will focus on educating the general public on my journey with ethically sourcing materials, and the practices that my family taught me when it comes to sustainability and the environment. Growing up on the land and living off the land allowed me to have a lived experience that I bring forward in my work today, and I think that the general public is genuinely wanting to know how to avoid ‘tourist” places that sell Indigenous art not made by an Indigenous person, their looking for the story behind the art, and who the artist is. Do you ship internationally?
Currently, WolfDen Designz ships within Canada only, due to US tariffs.
