Hi, I’m Staci, the artist and hands behind WolfDen Designz. I’m a proud Iroquois artisan based in Calgary, AB and every piece I create is a tribute to the teachings and traditions passed down through my family-especially my grandmother, who taught me the art of raised beadwork.

For me, beading is more than a craft-it’s a way to honour my culture, connect with my roots, and share stories through wearable art. My journey began at a young age, leaning not only beadwork, but also how to tan hides, work with furs, and even how to trap-skills that have been a part of my family for generations. These experiences taught me to respect every part of the process, from sourcing materials to finishing each piece by hand.

I use sustainable, locally sourced materials like smoked hide, glass beads, and jewelry grade sterling silver wire, I hand make all my hooks in my home studio. Each stitch is done by hand-I prefer not to use glue. My designs blend traditional Iroquois designs with a more contemporary spirit. From our award-winning raised beadwork trilliums to our signature 3D strawberries, each piece is created with care, patience, and deep respect for the land and community.

I believe in slow fashion, eco-friendly practices, and giving back through workshops and community initiatives.Winning the Amy Willier Award for Indigenous Artisans at the Made in Alberta Awards in 2023 was an honour that inspires me to keep learning and sharing my art.

Thank you for visiting WolfDen Designz. I hope that you find a piece that speaks to your story as much as it does to mine.
